THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW

The day after tomorrow:

-          Long tracking shot

-          Sense of excitement and adventure

-          Journey to a remote location

This film starts with a very long tracking shot, which is shown over the land of the Antarctic which suggests a sense of excitement, and also a sense of adventure. The shot is long as the direction pictures them traveling on a plane to this very hostile and magnificent location. The CGI is really realistic which makes us feel as if it’s real and that we are actually there, the colours in the opening scene are all white and light and dark blues which gives us a sense of majesty. All of the titles come up at the beginning with in the first 3 minutes of the film. Overall the opening creates a feel of magnificence, and all of the building up creates tension but also a sense of brilliance but as well, suspense.  The shift between the opening tracking shot and the live action is marked by the text.
